Now that Fall is officially here, it is a perfect time of the year to start getting your home ready for those winter months ahead. Winterizing your home should take place in the fall so unexpected cold snaps don’t leave your plumbing under strain.

Fall Maintenance Checklist

Have You Started To Get Your Home Ready For Winter?

Autumn is your cue to winterize your home's plumbing.

Cold weather can have a big effect on your home’s plumbing and heating system. If not properly prepared, you could face frozen pipes, burst pipes and “no heat” service calls that end up being costly. Sometimes winter can strike early and you’ll be unexpectedly caught in the cold. The last thing you want is for a burst pipe or falling gutters to ruin an otherwise cozy winter day.

Start your fall maintenance checklist today before you forget!

  • AROUND THE YARD: Outdoor Faucets and Drainage:all hoses should be disconnected and valves shut off.
  • GARAGE: clean out gutters and insulate any pipes
  • HOUSE OUTSIDE: clean out gutters
  • HOUSE INSIDE: check for any leaks; insulate piping
  • BASEMENT: equipment check: sump pump/ hot water heater/furnace

By taking preventative measures you can avoid a lot of potential problems once winter kicks into high-gear.
